Netherlands has defeated Sweden 1-0 in semi final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
J. Groenen broke the deadlock in extra time at 99th minute and brought Netherlands face-to-face with United States of America in the final of the Championship.
Both sides hit woodwork in normal time as the scoreboard read 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes.
The second leg of the semi final was played Wednesday in Lyon.
There was so much hit on both sides. Sweden piled on the pressure as they desperately sought an equaliser, but they couldn’t find enough precision around the box. It was indeed a sad day for Sweden.
Netherlands will play USA in the final on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
