603 civilians who had been held hostage were rescued.
According to the Deputy Director, Public Relations, Theatre Command Operation of Lafiya Dole, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, troops attacked the enclaves of the terrorists at Kusha-Kucha, Surdewala, Alkanerik, Magdewerne and Mayen villages.
They are all located at the Nigerian–Cameroonian border.

15 locally fabricated rifles recovered from the insurgents, four Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), several motorcycles and bicycles were destroyed in the attack.
According to Nwachukwu, troops also tracked insurgents to Bokko, Daushe and Gava villages, and attacked them in their escape bid.
He said two of the terrorists were killed while one AK 47 rifle, a magazine, a trolley and some quantity of petrol in Jerry cans were recovered.
He said those rescued where already undergoing profiling, preparatory to their handover to appropriate officials of Internally Displaced Persons, IDP.
