The cause of the accident was not known yet, but it was gathered that the passenger who died in the incident sunk with the carcass of the boat.

Those who survived the accident were taken to the Ebute-Ero jetty.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State government had, last week, pledged to stop illegal jetty and boat operators.

The bid, the government said, was to prevent incessant boat mishaps in the state.
