The Benue Police Command has arrested and paraded seven suspects for various criminal acts.
Among them were two suspected ritualists, Hyginus Lubem Mbachii and Gambo Bulus alias Murphy who killed their friend, Afa Amanger, for the purpose of making money.
Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Makurdi, on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, Omololu Bishi said the two boys were arrested in Nasarawa state.
Briefing newsmen in his office earlier, Bishi told journalists that one Mr. Iorumbur Amanger of Tombo-Mbaya Buruku Local Government Area petitioned the Police stating that one Hyginus Lubem Mbachi of the same address defrauded him of the sum of N209, 150, being fee for the admission of his son Afa Amanger, ( the deceased) into a University in Cameroon.
Mr Amanger however raised an alarm after the suspect left his house with his son to Cameroon and since then he could not communicate with his son on phone.
He said during investigation, Hyginus Lubem Mbachii and one Gambo Bulus alias Murphy of Akwanga, Nasarawa State, were arrested at Lafia, Nasarawa State on February 22, 2019, in connection with the case.
“The suspects confessed to have killed Afa Amanger since January 5, 2019, for ritual purpose.”
Hyginus and his gang did not stop there but, have all the while been collecting money from the complainant (Afa’s father) for his own personal use in the guise he is using it for Afa’s upkeep in school in Cameroon.

The police commissioner however, commended the Benue people and other security agencies in the state for conducting themselves peacefully during the elections.
“The conduct of the electorate and their cooperation with security agencies was seen to be cordial. I urge members of the public to keep up this violence free ambiance during the forthcoming gubernatorial election and even beyond,” he added.
