Ahead of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, the Benue State Police Command said it has deployed 7000 personnel to different parts of the state to provide security.
The State Commissioner of Police, Omololu Bishi, stated this when he spoke to newsmen in his office in Makurdi.
The Police Commissioner appealed to citizens of the state to be law abiding throughout the period of the election by promoting and voting in peace.

He noted that all his men who were earlier deployed for the botched election went back to their primary places of assignment but they have as at Friday all returned to designated locations for the Presidential and National Assemblies elections.
The police commissioner however urged all politicians in the state to play by the rules games saying anyone found contravening the electoral laws would be made to face the law.
