Benue NUJ Signs MOU With Consultant To Manage Schools

Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Benue state Council and Shaphyna Educational consultants have signed a memorandum of understanding, MOU to take over the management and operation of NUJ College, Pen Nursery and Primary Schools.

During the ceremony which took place at the NUJ Hall of Fame, Makurdi, the council Chairman, Victoria Asher signed on behalf of the NUJ while the Manager, Dooember Achor signed on behalf of the Shaphyna Educational Consultants.

The event was witnessed by the consultant to NUJ, .Wilfred Bula, members of the state working committee, all Chapel chairmen and Secretaries as well as other members of the Union.

Asher said the feat was based on the permission of members for her to bring in reforms in the union for optimal performance.

The NUJ chairman assured that they would not relent in their efforts in ensuring that the corner shops, kitchen and restaurant become operational to increase the revenue generation for the union.

She charged the new management of the schools to ensure that the best result was achieved.

Consultant to the NUJ, Wilfred Bula, described the MOU as a dream come true saying he would do his best for corner shops, kitchen and restaurant take off.

Responding, the manager, Shaphyna Educational consultants, Mrs Dooember Achor, promised to work hard to uplift the schools to international best practice.

Mrs Achor assured the staff that the taking over of the schools was not to lay them off but to ensure that quality education was given to the children to compete favourably with their counterparts in other schools.
