President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, summoned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over his alleged refusal to relocate to Benue State to stem the tide of killings.
Buhari had directed the police boss to relocate to Benue in the wake of the killings which occurred on January 1, 2018.
However, during a tour of the states which had experienced loss of lives and property in recent time, Buhari visited Benue, but was told that IGP Idris did not carry out his order.
According to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, IGP Idris did not spend a whole day in the state as he relocated to Nasarawa State.
Amazed at the disclosure, the president promised to act on the issue.

The police boss who was summoned to the Presidency met with the president for about 30 minutes.
He however refused to speak with journalists over his mission.
It was however gathered that Idris was ordered to bring a full report on the activities of the police force, in stemming the tide of violence in the affected areas.
That, it was said, was with the decision to ensure that peace finally returned to Benue State.
