Benue: Army arrests suspected killers of Igbana, governor’s aide

Three men who confessed to being responsible for the killing of the Senior Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Special Security, Mr. Denen Igbana, have been arrested. 

They belong to the militia led by Terwase Akwaza.

Announcing that the militiamen were arrested by the Nigerian Army, the Commander, Operation Whirl Stroke, Major General Adeyemi Yekini, also disclosed that the military bombarded the camps of the militia in both Benue and Nasarawa State.

Yekini who spoke with journalists in Makurdi on Tuesday, however, did not disclose the identities of the suspects.

The army boss also disclosed that the Army dislodged no fewer than over 40 armed herdsmen in the area.

The governor’s aide, Igbana, was killed in 2016.

He was shot by gunmen in the presence of his family.
