The Police have stepped up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder of Bilyamin Muhammed Bello, son of former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one-time Minister, Dr. Haliru Bello.
The younger Bello is suspected to have been murdered by his wife, Maryam, in Abuja.
Maryam is the daughter of former Aso Savings boss, Hajia Maimuna Aliyu, who was recently nominated into the board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
“The FCT Police Command has commenced investigation into the matter.
“The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section for discreet investigation,” said police spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah.
The police, it was gathered, in the course of the investigation, was led to her home for a search, fingerprints and other necessary details.

She was reported to have burst into tears when led into her residence by the police.
She had her seven months old baby with her during the investigation.
She is currently being detained by the police.
Maryam was said to have attacked her husband and stabbed him to death over some text messages he was said to have been receiving from some women.
She was said to have engaged the husband in a shouting match over the development and later in a state of utter fury, picked a knife and stabbed her husband.
Bello struggled out of the house drenched in blood and sought the help of neighbours who helped him to a hospital.
Bello died in the hospital and the case was reported to the police.
It was on the basis of the report that the police arrested Maryam who is the suspect in the case.
Bello was buried after the funeral prayer at the Central Mosque in Abuja.
