On Monday, the 23rd of April, it was a tense atmosphere as fans gathered at the Murtala Muhammed Airport to welcome the finalists of the reality show, Big Brother Nigeria.

The show which ended on Sunday had five housemates in the final week.

They were Miracle, Tobi, Cee-C, Alex and Nina.

It was a colourful event with drums and other musical instruments in the hands of supporters, making pleasant sounds for those who gathered at the airport.

Foreigners who flew into the country were welcomed by the fans of the finalists.

However, there was a darker side to it.

The same way Miracle, Alex, Nina and Tobi were a clique in the house was the same way the fans came together.

As Cee-C was left alone in the final week of the show, so were her fans.

In their case, it was even worse as they were warned not to get close to the fans of the other four.

Before they arrived, family members of the housemates were at the airport to receive them.

The families of Tobi, Alex, Miracle and Nina were all received with love.

As for the family of Cee-C, it was a different situation.

As soon as they sighted her sister, they began hurling insults.

They called her all sort of names.

One of them called her “short devil.”

She felt so uncomfortable that she became restless.

Seeing the manner in which she was being insulted, some fans of Cee-C who put on ‘Team Cee-C’ T-shirts had to pull them off for fear of being attacked by the angry mob.

While the fanfare mixed with tension was going on, the Big Brother Naija finalists began to come out of the arrival lounge one by one.

The first to come out was the winner of the show, Miracle.

He was ushered out by hefty security men who whisked him into an SUV.

It was so fast that many fans could not get a glimpse of him.

Next was Alex.

She was surrounded by fans and was overwhelmed by it.

If not for the help of security guards she would not have been able to leave the premises.

Nina left as quick as Miracle did.

Tobi was greeted with hugs from supporters of all teams including Cee-C’s.

In as much as he wanted to spend a few minutes with his fans, he could not as the crowd was too much to handle.

The highlight of the night was when Cee-C came out.

She was accompanied by her fans, sister and a few hefty security men.

Despite that, she was mobbed by angry persons.

They dragged her hair and pulled her Pepsi shirt.

In the midst of the struggle, someone hit her in the face.

They kept dragging her and her fans shouted “leave her alone!” but they did not listen.

It took the intervention of the security men to ward off the crowd and put her in the vehicle waiting by the arrival lounge.

They did not stop at that as they banged the car and booed her till the car left the vicinity.
