The Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed A. Abubakar, has expressed shock over the death of the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Kabir Umar.
The emir passed on on Saturday.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Ali M Ali, the governor said the death of the emir had created a vacuum that would not easily be filled given his exemplary lifestyle and conduct.
The governor said he lived “according to the sunnah of the holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”
He said his death came at a time when his wise counsel and contributions to the development of the state in particular and the nation in general were most needed.
“His death is not only a loss to the Katagum Emirate but the entire nation. He will be remembered for some many reasons,” he said, adding that God should grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
