As Nigerians continue to react to the attack on the country residence of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has deascribed the incident as a national shame.
This is just as the former Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, Abubakar Tsav said it was a grave act of contempt, disrespect and impunity.
Governor Ortom in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase condemned the attack and wondered why armed men would want to harm a peace-loving man and former President of the country.
He posited that “if Dr. Jonathan could be attacked in such a manner, what becomes of vulnerable Nigerians?
The Governor described the attack as unfortunate and urged security operatives to bring the culprits to justice.

He also called on security agencies to intensify surveillance in all parts of the country to guarantee the safety of lives and property.
Ortom also appreciated God for sparing the life of the former President when the attackers invaded his residence.
Meanwhile, Abubakar Tsav in a text message stated that “the attack on the residence of former President Jonathan in Otueke in Bayelsa State is a grave act of contempt, disrespect and impunity demonstrated by the Government and People of Bayelsa State against President Jonathan.
According to him “this may have something to do with the last gubernatorial election in that State.
“It’s a shame to the Government and people of Bayelsa State. They cannot protect their own. It’s a shame indeed,” Tsav added.
