The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced a two-week warning strike.
According to the body of lectures, the warning strike which began on Monday is to make FG to implement all outstanding issues relating to the 2009-2019 memorandum of understanding/action with the Federal Government.
ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, disclosed this in Enugu on Monday while briefing journalists after the National Executive Committee meeting.

According to Ogunyemi, the contentious issues include: the alleged imposition of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS), Poor funding and proliferation of State universities, re-negotiation of the 2009 ASUU/FGN agreement, non-remittance of third party deduction of salaries of members and non-payment of February 2020 salaries amongst others.
Meanwhile, ASUU president called on the Federal Government to restructure the security architecture in the country to address the many challenges in the country, infrastructural decay inadequate power supply amongst other issues.
