Armed herdsmen have attacked a village in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State killing many and leaving several others injured.

Our correspondent gathered the the armed herdsmen militia had invaded Waya village near Jato Aka, Kwande LGA, of Benue State killing and maiming anyone in sight.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Catherine Anene said “on 4/2/2020 at about 1000hrs, unknown gunmen suspected to be herders invaded Moon district, Kwande Local Government Area and shot sporadically at persons sighted at the river bank.”

According to her, during investigation, one male and two female corpses were recovered.

Anene said more police teams have been deployed to the area to restore peace and order while investigation is still in progress.
