The decision is an obvious move to take the control of the party in the state away from Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Although Saraki has not announced his defection, there are strong indications that he would leave the party.

The dissolution of the state executive was announced by the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, in Abuja.

He was supported by the National Secretary of the party, Mai Mala Buni.

The party also announced that a caretaker committee would be inaugurated to take charge of the activities in the state.

It is to be chaired by Bashir Bolarinwa.

Similarly, the party said caretaker committees would be inaugurated to take charge of activities at the wards and local governments.

The party said the resolution was taken following latest developments in the party in Kwara State.

It stated that the power to carry out the dissolution of the state executive was in pursuant to the provisions of article 13.4 (xvi) and (xvii) of the APC’s Constitution.
