The All Progressives Congress, APC, has shifted its national convention to June, 2018.

The exact date is, however, not yet decided.

The convention was earlier scheduled to hold on May 14.

The National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, made this known in a statement he issued.

The congresses of the party have also been shifted.

Contrary to the earlier time table, the ward congress will hold on May 5, the one for the local government will hold on May 12 while that of the state will hold on May 19.

The party decided to change the time table in view of this year’s muslim fasting which coincides with the period the events will hold.

The fasting starts in May.

“The observation was that the timetable as it is currently constituted or composed was determined because of the Ramadan and we want to be sensitive to the feelings of Muslims who will be fasting in the month of Ramadan. “Therefore, we try to avoid conducting any political activities in the month of Ramadan… We are aware that some governors have been making statements which we believe are giving the impression that we don’t intend to hold congresses in particular states.

“So, the meeting was to emphasise to those governors that we want congresses in a very transparent manner and to ensure that the processes are free and fair,” Abdullahi had said earlier.
