Registered hotel owners under the aegis of Hotel Owners Association Anambra State (HOA) have lamented the high cost of thermometres, one of the key devices to determine the status of persons as regards COVID-19.
The association said the high cost of the devices in the open market had made it difficult for most of their members to access them, thereby hampering their ability to fully comply with government’s directives.

It appealed to the Anambra State government to assist its members by subsiding the cost of the devices for them.
Disclosing this while speaking to newsmen, in Onitsha, on Wednesday, Mr. Lawrence Okechukwu, Chairman of Hotel Owners Association, Anambra North Senatorial Zone, stated that his members had been strictly complying with the government’s directives.
He said they had also set up a special taskforce to monitor the compliance level among their members, but regretted that unregistered hotel owners in the state had been disobeying the order, especially on social distancing.
