There are indications that Willie Obiano, the incumbent governor of Anambra State and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Saturday governorship election is emerging victorious.
From the results of the local governments released so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Obiano is enjoying a resounding lead.
In the first result announced by the Chief Returning Officer for the election, Professor Zanna Akpagu, Obiano enjoyed a good lead.
The result is that of Njikoka council where Obiano polled 16, 944 votes as against those of Nwoye of All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 5,756 and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Oseloka Obaze, who polled 3,477 votes.
In Dunukofia LGA, Obiano scored 8,575 votes, edging out the APC candidate, Nwoye who polled 7,016 votes.
The PDP came third with 1,530.
