The Police Assistance Committee (PAC) has commended the take-off of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), aka ‘Operation Amotekun’ initiated by the governors of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states comprising the South-West region.

Dr. Martins John Oni, PAC Director-General, in a statement made available to NEXT EDITION on Thursday in Lagos, described the formation of the outfit as a bold and courageous move that would improve on the security architecture of the region.

The PAC boss implored the promoters of Operation Amotekun to ensure that proper strategies were put in place while engaging the workforce who must be properly trained with necessary orientation that could enhance good performance.

He also enjoined them to ensure that their operatives anchor their operation more on intelligence gathering which he said is a core ingredient of community policing, even as he craved for better cooperation and good working relationship with the police and other state security agencies.

He added that the PAC, with its vast experience in the area of community policing, would be ready and willing to offer its assistance by partnering with Operation Amotekun in area of intelligence gathering and information dissemination.
