According to Andrew-Essien, the State Government has also paid staff salary arrears to 1,227 workers, pension arrears to 4,304 pensioners as well as 2015 employment arrears to 2,249 civil servants all within one year.

He said that with the completion of the payment of 2015 gratuity, the State Government has begun compiling names of those who retired in 2016, explaining that payment was being done in batches due to the huge amount involved.
