The Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has appointed Mr. Bolaji Tunji, as his new spokesman.
Tunji replaces Yomi Olayinka as his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy.
This is as Layinka has become the Special Adviser, Ibadan Media City Project, to the governor.
According to a statement by Secretary to the State Government, Mr Olalekan Alli, Tunji’s appointment takes immediate effect.
Bolaji Tunji was a member of the Editorial Board of the
The Sun newspaper.
He has served as the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the New Telegraph newspaper, Editor of Daily Independent, The Guardian, Daily Times, The defunct Comet, Nation and National Mirror newspapers.
An alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Bolaji Tunji began his journalism career at the Guardian newspaper in March 1993.

With his new assignment, Layinka will oversee the proposed transformation of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) into a massive and formidable media, entertainment and cultural hub for South-West Nigeria.
He would also take the responsibility of transforming the corporation into a hub that would include television and radio broadcasting production studios, theme parks/resorts, hospitality centre, a media academy and hosting venue for major live events in the sub-region.
