They return of peace and safety of lives and property are the greatest achievements of the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration in Akwa Ibom State.
This is the position of a group of Akwa Ibom Professionals in the different sectors in Nigeria.
The group made the remark just as it warned politicians to abhor inflammatory comments capable of heating up the polity, and to see election as a game which should not be used to destroy the people and unity of the state.
During a courtesy call on the Governor at the Government House, the group said with the advent of Governor Emmanuel, investors and indigenes alike were able to come in freely and invest in the state’s economy.
Mr. Udeme Ufot, the leader of the delegation maintained that despite the challenges the administration was facing in the deficit of resources, the Governor was satisfactorily implementing his five point agenda, industrializing the state, and most importantly his pursuit in the peace and security of the state.
He further commended the Dakkada philosophy enacted by Governor Udom Emmanuel; an ideology which he revealed has changed the mindset of the Akwa Ibom sons and daughters to build their dreams and to rise beyond ethnicity and embrace unity in the state.
He said the Governor had encouraged good neighbourliness among people in the state by championing a unity project and also deliberately fighting cultism in the state.
The professionals declared their support towards the Governor’s re-election, quoting Martin Luther King Junior that the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moment of comfort but where he stands at times of challenge and controversies.
The Governor in his reaction, lauded the professionals for their support to his administration since inception in 2015.
“Let me also thank most of you inside this place that offered to help. Not that we have anything to offer, yet so many of you made sacrifices,” he said.
He said his technical committee on the deep seaport project had made significant progress, which he had not been willing to publicize.

Despite the success story at the seaport project, he said, his government was already establishing another logistic hub to push oil and gas downstream businesses to Ikot Abasi.
“We have had reasonable investors who have started all the surveys and so on,” he added.
The Governor said challenges were everywhere and his administration was no exception, with one springing up in each sector and sub-sectors of the state.
He disclosed that despite security and economic challenges in the country, his administration in the last three years had brought about sustainable result in the areas of industrialisation, infrastructural development, human empowerment and wealth creation.
He echoed the agriculture sector which has yielded result in the production of garri and the rice processing mill built in Ini, producing 3 tons per hectare in the first batch, with plan to increase to 5-6 tons per hectare in the second batch.
He also opened up on the concept of the Green House project by his administration, saying this had enabled the state to produce several fruits and vegetables, despite the weather.
Governor Emmanuel thanked the professionals for their kind words and show of solidarity to his administration, noting that their concerns on security were receiving considerable attention from his administration.
