Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, vowed to end violence in Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun.
The government of Akwa Ibom State has vowed to bring to an end cult war in Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun local government areas of the state.
The cult war has led to the death of many and the destruction of property in the areas.
Governor Udom Emmanuel made the vow on Friday when he visited the council headquarters at Utu Etim Ekpo.
During the visit, he called on the youths in the area to avoid any form of violence.
It is believed that the visit of the governor has to do with violence that followed the killing of a soldier at Iwukem community by unknown gunmen.
As a result of the killing, a detachment of soldiers went on rampage, burning down market stalls and houses in the area.
