The two commissioners sacked by Emmanuel were given till Wednesday to leave their posts.
The Akwa Ibom State Government has sacked the Commissioner for Labour, Productivity and Manpower Development, Sir Ibanga Akpabio, from the Executive Council with immediate effect.
His counterpart in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Victor Antai, has also been dropped.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, made this known in a statement he issued and made available to The Next Edition.
Ekuwem said in the statement that Akpabio and Antai were removed from the State Executive Council following gross misconduct and non-complaince with public service rules.
With the development, they have been mandated to handover to the Permanent Secretary in their respective ministries before close of work on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
