The alleged relocation of Ibaka Deep Seaport to Okposo in Ibeno local government in Akwa Ibom State needs to be addressed by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The Bishop of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rev. Asukwo Antai made the call saying the need to address the issue was very necessary going by the anxiety expressed over it.
Rev. Antai who made the call while addressing Church faithful on Saturday in Ikot Ekpene during the ongoing first session of the Eighth Synod of the Anglican Communion, Uyo Diocese.
Oro Ethnic Nationality, the third largest ethnic nationality in the state, had few weeks back, announced its resolve to hold a world press conference which, they said, shall would address the purported relocation of Ibaka Deep Seaport to Ibeno and many other issues affecting the state.
However, Antai, who addressed sundry issues in the polity, also called on the government to deliver on its signature projects as well as reactivate government owned moribund industries.
While calling government’s attention to the flooded IBB Way, Uyo, Prince Antai stressed that the leadership of Udom Emmanuel should as a matter of urgent importance, remove the flood area in IBB Way and in other places, while the old Women Affairs Ministry’s building should be relocated, if it is necessary to give right to waterway.
Antai who insisted that the state needed peace, love, unity and development, observed that “hostile remarks currently dominating the media in reaction to the defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio” was “unfortunate,” as the former governor was just exercising his fundamental right.

He stated that church members in politics were at liberty to belong to any political parties of their choice.
He said that they were “free to choose or vote the candidates of their choice in the upcoming 2019 general elections.”
Bishop of Uyo Diocese noted that, “no political party is a saint or devil” and that “ethnocentric, selfish, greedy and corrupt leaders and chieftains of political parties were rather those causing problems.”
He urged the Akwa Ibom state government to establish “farm villages and silos in each of the local government areas to boost commercial/large scale farm in the state,” in line with its progress in food production.
While, congratulating both “Governor Udom Emmanuel on his successes” within the time being, and the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC under the leadership of Obong Nsima Ekere “for partnering the state in fixing rural roads, among other strategic interventions,” Bishop Antai charged all political players to be law abiding and god-fearing in their activities as God was ready to give victory to whom He pleases.
