The African Export-Import Bank, Afreximbank, has named another Nigerian, Olaleye Babatunde, as director of its Information Technology, IT, Department.
Babatunde is the third Nigerian in a week to be elevated by the Bank.
Recall that on Monday, the bank appointed Humphrey Nwugo as Regional Chief Operating Officer for its Harare-based Southern Africa Regional Office and on Wednesday, it named Maureen Mba, as director for its Compliance Department.
Mr Obi Emekekwue, Director and Global Head of Communications and Events Management in Afreximbank, in a statement announcing Babatunde’s appointment on Friday in Lagos, said Babatunde would be responsible for leading Afreximbank’s strategy on information technology in support of the bank’s mandate and medium-term strategy.
He said Babatunde had headed the bank’s Information Technology Unit as a Senior Manager since February 2014 when he joined the bank adding that prior to that he was the Chief Information Officer/Deputy General Manager at Stanbic IBTC Bank, Nigeria.

Babatunde holds an MBA from the Lagos Business School in 2004, M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Lagos in 1998 and a B.Sc., also in computer science, from the University of Ibadan in 1995.
