Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals (ACSPN) launches new Series.
The Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals (ACSPN) has launched the ACSPN Eminent Persons Strategy Series (AEPSS). The Series would feature local and international professional, experts and scholars who are either not core communication and media professionals, or marginally so.
A Statement signed by Professor Nosa Owens-Ibie, General Secretary, ACSPN, said the new Series is part of the Association’s “drive to continually innovate and promote strategic thinking, impact and outcomes in communication and media scholarship and practice.
The statement further said that “the Series would harness current thinking on issues germane to the future of the disciplines of communication and media and is part of the evolving ideas revolution which should drive the 21st Century positioning, as the world moves rapidly during a critical phase in its Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
The AEPSS joins two other initiatives of ACSPN which are making giant strides in their areas. These are the ACSPN Empowerment Series which has featured various activities targeting the empowerment of various audiences in communication and media issues, and the ACSPN History Series which has been featuring distinguished veterans with rich track records in various areas of communication and media scholarship and practice.
The new Series, according to the statement, is not only a restatement of the centrality of communication in all spheres of human and societal life, but acknowledges the ramifying roles of and direct and/or indirect influences in shaping issues of communication and media by those who are primarily involved in media and communication scholarship and practice.
