The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has unveiled the 2020 edition of Hymnodia scheduled to kick off on February 23.
Hymondia is a talent hunt reality show which debuted last year.
According to a statement issued by Kufre Ekanem, the Executive Producer Hymondia, President of CAN, Rev. Supo Samuel Ayokunle prayed and unveiled the ASAPH (the Trophy) for Hymnodia 2020 at the CAN Interdenominational Divine Service held at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, Lagos on February 15.
The statement read in part: “ASAPH was unveiled by the CAN President, Rev. Supo Samuel Ayokunle who was ably represented by the Chairman, CAN Lagos State, Apostle (Prof) Alexander Bamgbola and Bishop STV Adegbite, the CAN Director of National Issues and Social Welfare.

“The 5 families of CAN were present at the event which also had in attendance the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State first lady, Her Excellency, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. Their entourage included the wife of the Deputy Governor and members of the State Executive Council.
Hymnodia’s Season 1 Hymntestant, Ulunma Blessing Agu, had the privilege of leading the CAN Choir to render the closing hymn (To God Be The Glory) to complete an all-round great day for ‘the art of worship’.”
Ekanem disclosed that the final 14 hymntestants were also announced over the weekend ahead of the Hymnstitute reopening for Season 2.
The final 14 were selected from over 2000 applicants.
Ekanem thanked CAN for publicly endorsing the show.
