The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Benue State Chapter, on Sunday ended the three days fasting and prayer against insurgency and killings in the nation with a protest March.
CAN Chairman in Benue, Rev. Akpen Leva who led other christian leaders on the protest said “we pray against the killing of Christians in Nigeria. Enough is enough.
“What a nation where people are killed on daily basis and our security are helpless, a nation where we conduct mass burials than we conduct weddings, where a cow is more valuable than a human being, where a set of people claim responsibility of killing innocent people, yet they are roaming about freely without arrests”.
Rev. Leva who described as babaric, the way and manner the CAN Chairman of Michika in Adamawa State was beheaded stated that “We do not have confidence in the leadership of the nation anymore. We are tired of the killings.”
He noted that Nigeria is a secular state and called on the federal government to sit up just as he appealed to the international community to help Nigeria in nipping insurgency in the bud.

He lamented that there are more IDP camps in the country than there are homes. “We do not have confidence in this country. Nigeria is a failure. Our president, security agencies must sit up.
“We join CAN National in Benue state here to condemn the killings and to say we are not satisfied with what they are doing and we need a change,” Leva said.
Earlier, the state Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Mike Angough urged every Christian in the country to “be a prepared Christian”.
He called on every Christian to pray, saying with prayers, enemies of Christians will be crushed.
Bishop Angough prayed God to declare peace over Nigeria and touch the leaders to work towards achieving peace for the overall good of all Nigerians.
During the protest, CAN members bore placards bearing inscription such as ” Nigeria is a secular state”, “Enough Is Enough”, “Say No To Bloodshed”, “CAN Mourns Her Members”, “Christians Should Speak Out”, among others.
