BIRS Terminates Contracts With Some Revenue Consultants

The Executive Chairman Benue State Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Mr. Andrew Ayabam has approved the termination of contract with revenue consultants who have failed to comply with the contract terms as at 30th June, 2019.

A press statement signed by the Legal Adviser of the board, Barr. George Usongo and made available to newsmen states that the termination takes effect from 31st July, 2019.

The consultants who have met up with the terms of the contract and still remain engaged include Messers Termer Investment Limited, Sabakuye Nigeria Limited, Shagmas & Sons Enterprises, Diba Global Resources Nig. LTD, Talent International LTD, I.E.S Consultancy.

Others are Bezaleel Grace and Glory LTD, Abutamaris Nig. LTD, Sevic Porporate International LTD, Space Security Limited, Lufanto Nigeria Limited, Mashilagba Nig. LTD, Mega Restoration Global Co. LTD and Terry Abson Functions.

The chairman said henceforth, all consultants with the state’s revenue service are mandated to collect and remit all government revenue through the Point-Of-Sales, POS, terminal and BIRS e-bills platform in conjunction with staff of the service at all designated inspection points and markets.

He also directed that all consultants who have their contracts terminated have 14 days to come and clear their indebtedness or face prosecution.

Ayabam therefore called on the general public to take note of the development and pay their taxes through the POS and e-bills platforms in all licensed commercial banks within Nigeria.
