At the floor of the house, the lawmakers after screening Mr. Ayabam, in their separate remarks described his reappointment as merited following his contribution to Benue state while he was in the same office seven years ago.

Mr. Ayabam, like the other commissioner nominees who were screened after him, was asked to take a bow and leave.

Gov. Ortom had forwarded the names of the 15 commissioner nominees last Monday, July 15, 2019.

They included six former commissioners in Ortom’s first term, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Mr. Mike Gusa, Mr. Bernard Unenger, David Olufu, Mrs. Ladi Isegbe and Merga Kachina.

Other nominees confirmed were Mrs. Ngunan Addingi, Dr. Ongbabo Sunday, Alexander Shaapera, Timothy Ijir, Dondo Ahire, Oyiwona Emmanuel, Igirgi Nyiazungwe, Victor Ukaha and a former cabinet adviser in the first term, Ekpe Ogbu.

After their screening, Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Titus Uba, while congratulating them admonished them not to disappoint the state, but ensure they perform excellently in their various portfolios so as to move the state forward.

He told them that the House took the issue of oversight function very seriously and appealed to them to cooperate with the assembly when called to give account of their stewardship.
