The Oyo State House of Assembly, on Monday, elected 31-year-old Debo Ogundoyin from Ibarapa East constituency, Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
The new Speaker, Ogundoyin, was elected into the state Assembly in 2018, following the demise of the former Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, also from Ibarapa East local government.
Ogundoyin is the son of the late industrialist, Adeseun Ogundoyin from Eruwa, Ibarapa local government area of Ondo state.
The 9th House of Assembly is dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with 26 out of the 32 honorable members.
The former ruling party in the state, All Progressives Congress, APC has five lawmakers, leaving the Action Democratic Party, ADP, with one member.
