Maternity Leave Now Six Months - El-rufai

Gov. Nasir El-rufai Thursday approved six months maternity leave for female civil servants in contrary to the three months maternity leave enjoyed by female civil servants.

The Kaduna State governor made the announcement via his Twitter handle @elrufai in what could be said to a democracy day gift.

The tweet reads, “I am pleased to announce that just yesterday, our State Executive Council approved six months maternity leave for our female public servants. This encourages the healthy development of infants through prolonged breastfeeding, among other benefits.”

The governor said the decision would encourage healthy development of babies.
