In its ruling the tribunal gave permission to the applicants to inspect the materials and obtain the certified through copies of the documents from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

INEC had declared Buhari winner of the election with 15,191,847 votes while his closest challenger, Atiku had polled 11,262,978 votes.
