National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of planning to win the forthcoming election through illegally procured votes and thuggery.

Oshiomhole made the comment on Tuesday in Abuja while reacting to a statement by the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on President Muhammadu Buhari’s orders to the army and police to deal ruthlessly with thugs and ballot box snatchers.

Buhari had on Monday, while speaking at the APC expanded National Caucus meeting, also warned that any politician that sponsored thugs or ballot box snatchers, would be dealt with by security operatives.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Oshiomhole posited that no responsible candidate or individual should fault the President’s directive, noting that only candidates who rely on thuggery would fault it.

Describing PDP and Atiku’s reactions as shameful, he however, said his party was not surprised as the PDP had perfected plans to get to power by all means possible.

According to him, the option of one man one vote was not on PDP’s table.

Oshiomhole said Atiku by his statement has admitted that he was not popular by recently claiming that he had two geopolitical zones while the APC has four other geopolitical zones.

He said: “Atiku has called on the President to retract his instruction to security agencies regarding violence, ballot box thieves, and other electoral malpractices.

“The question is how such instruction disturbs anyone that is truly interested in free, fair and credible elections.”

Oshiomhole stressed that Atiku and the PDP should prepare for the shock of their lives on the election day.

He maintained that the South South and South East were not unmindful of the unprecedented developmental achievements the Buhari-led APC administration in the zones under.

He submitted that following the recovery of the configured card readers recently from PDP agents in some states, Atiku, had gone to town with face-saving conspiracies that the APC had imported slow-working card readers from China.

Recall that Atiku had claimed that the card readers would be deployed to the South-South and South-East, which he said were his stronghold.

Oshiomhole, therefore wondered how Atiku knew where the card readers were made if he did not have informants in the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
