Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has disclosed that the meeting some governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, held with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday was in connection with the crisis rocking some of the party’s state chapters as a result of the primary elections held.

No fewer than seven governors met with Buhari at the Presidential Villa.

The governors were particularly those that have problems with the National Working Committee, NWC, over the outcome of the primary elections.

The primary elections in some states have brought about controversy, and in some instances, the NWC had cancelled them.

Some of the governors are embittered by the action of the NWC and wanted a solution to the crises that had ensued.

At the meeting were Okorocha, Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); Sani Bello (Niger); Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo); Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi); Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo); Simon Lalong (Plateau), and Tanko Almakura (Nasarawa).

Speaking on the meeting, Okorocha told State House correspondents: “We are looking for a way out in this regard (crises over primary elections) . We are going to find solution; our party believes in justice, equity, and fairness.

“We are requesting that let the right things be done and let everyone contest the elections.”
