Sanwoolu is believed in some quarters to be Tinubu’s preferred aspirant in the contest for the governorship post in the state.

Reports were earlier rife that the current governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, and Tinubu had gone their different ways.

Ambode was also rumoured to be planning to leave the party as a result of the disagreement between him and his supposed godfather.

However, eventually, Ambode picked the form to run for a second term on Tuesday and thanked Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the people of Lagos State.

He said he was determined to do more for the state, hence his decision to seek a second term.

Jide Sanwoolu is widely regarded as a public sector expert in human resources and policy formation.

He is a power sector consultant, an astute banker, a compelling public speaker and an inspirational leader.

He had at different times served as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Commissioner for Budget and Planning and Commissioner for Establishments and Training.
