The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered that a befitting burial should be given to the four policemen killed in an ambush by kidnappers in Kaduna State.
The slain policemen are Inspector Benard Odibo; Inspector Haruna Ibrahim; Inspector Mamman Abubakar and Sgt. Emmanuel Istifanus.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood, made the order of the IGP known in a statement on Monday.
Also, the IGP gave the order that their entitlements and insurance benefits should be promptly paid to their relations.
Said Moshood: “The IGP mourns the unfortunate death of the deceased Police officers and describes them as Heroes of the Force who laid down their lives and paid the supreme price in ensuring protection of lives and property and law and order in the country…

The policemen were on a follow up operation to arrest those involved in the kidnapping of one Sheikh Ahmad Adam Algarkawy in Rigasa area of Kaduna when they were ambushed and killed.
However six of the kidnappers were killed in the gun duel.
The bodies of the policemen had been deposited at St. Gerald Hospital Mortuary, Kaduna State, for autopsy.
One of the police officers involved in the operation had been treated for gunshot wound while others who escaped the attack were said to be in good condition.
