Alleged assassination bid: FG arraigns Melaye over false information

The Senator representing Kogi West, Kogi State, Dino Melaye, was on Thursday arraigned at an Abuja Court.

Melaye was arraigned by the Federal Government for alleged false information that the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Edward David, planned to assassinate him.

Melaye’s information to the police that Edward had planned to assassinate him was said to be false, hence the arraignment.

Melaye had however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Some senators, including Ben Murray-Bruce, who represents Bayelsa East, Bayelsa State, were in the court to show solidarity.

Also, some placard carrying protesters were at the court to express their support for Melaye.
