The Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has condoled with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the forthcoming election in the state, Osagie Ize-Iyamu and former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole over the death of two security aides in the party’s campaign train on Tuesday.
The two policemen died in a road accident involving their vehicle and a trailer around Oluku junction in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the State.
The campaign entourage was on their way to Usen community to campaign.
Following the accident, Mr. Ize-Iyamu canceled the campaign.
Commiserating with the APC team, Obaseki, also extended his sympathies to the families of the victims of the crash, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.

He said: “I received the news of the accident with shock and commiserate with the former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, over the very unfortunate incident involving their security aides and top chieftains of the party in the campaign team.
“While we pray for strength for the families of the deceased persons, we also pray for the quick recovery of those who were injured and are receiving treatment.”
The Edo State governorship election is scheduled to hold on September 19.
