Kaduna killing: Soldiers, Police intensify manhunt

The police and military have intensified manhunt for the suspected herdmen who attacked two Kaduna villages in Birnin Gwari local government area, killing 10 people.

Spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Husseini Mukhtar, made this known on Saturday.

Mukhtar who spoke on the incident said five persons who were members of vigilance group in the affected villages were killed.

This is contrary to the position in the villages that no fewer than 10 people were killed when the suspected herdsmen went on rampage.

The affected villages are Dangaji and Ungwan Gajere.

Several persons were also injured during the attack.

Houses were burnt down leaving the villagers to run for safety.

A villager was quoted as saying that the gunmen attacked Dangaje Village Friday night and proceeded to Unguwan Gajere Saturday morning.

Some of the people who sustained injuries were said to have died on their way to the hospital.

The herdsmen left before help could come from soldiers.
