NAPTIP arrests housewife for pushing sister-in-law into hot water

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has arrested a 24-year-old housewife, Mrs. Basira Sagiru, for pushing her sister-in-law into a pot of boiling water.

They were reported to have had a minor disagreement.

Her arrest was confirmed by the Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of NAPTIP, Mr Josiah Emerole.

The sister-in-law who fell victim is Hasiya Ibrahim.

She suffered high degree burns before she was rescued by sympathisers.

She is currently receiving medical attention courtesy NAPTIP.

She has been in the custody of NAPTIP since she was rescued and taken to NAPTIP office in Abuja.

Emereole said the next line of action would be taken after an ongoing investigation into the matter was completed.
