Aiteo Cup: Ibom Angels sure of victory –Nana

The Chairman of Ibom Angels Football Club, Mr. Moses Nana, has expressed optimism that his team will win Rivers Angels in the Aiteo Cup final.

The match holds on Wednesday at Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Nana who spoke on Tuesday when he watched the girls having their light warm up at Rwang Pam Township Stadium also thanked the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, for the support given to the team.

Nana also added that provisions had been made for fans of the team to storm Jos in large numbers to give the girls the maximum support.

Said he:  “I will use this opportunity to commend the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for the support he has given the team right from the beginning of the season.

“I’ll personally describe him as a miraculous governor ever for being the brain behind the qualification of the Super Eagles to Russia 2018 World Cup tournament, winning the male Aiteo Cup in the space of two years and his passion for grassroots sports development.

“His efforts resulted in the state emerging second in the overall final medals table in the just concluded national youth games in Ilorin, Kwara State.”

He also commended the state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Uko.

According to Nana, Uko had been able to interpret the dreams and visions of the governor and made them real.

He also thanked the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Paul Bassey, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sport, Mr. Aniedi Dickson for their support to the team.

Ibom Angels have played a total of four matches before reaching the final of the competition, scoring a total of six goals, conceding three.

Their game with Rivers Angels will make it the third this year.

They played a one all draw in Uyo and goalless draw in Port Harcourt during the just concluded Nigeria Women Football League.
