Boko Haram: Troops rescue 6 year-old boy , kill three insurgents

A 6 year-old boy was rescued from the captivity of the terrorists group, Boko Haram, in Bama Local Government Area of Borno by the Nigerian Army.

Also, the army killed three Boko Haram insurgents in a gun duel at various insurgents’ enclaves in the area.

According to the Director, Army Public Relations Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman, in a statement issued in Maiduguri the soldiers recorded the success the soldiers who operated under the name, “Deep Punch.”

He disclosed that the operation took place in Abaram, Churuchuru and Aulajiri villages of Bama council Bornu State.

The operation, Usman said, was conducted by combined troops of the 202 Battalion, 21 Brigade of Operations Lafiya Dole.

He said the troops ran away after they were overpowered by the troops.

His words:  ”Troops neutralised three terrorists and rescued a 6 year-old boy and recovered two dane guns.

“Similarly, troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade on patrol encountered some Boko Haram terrorists along Bama-Bocobos Road.”

He explained further that the troops engaged the terrorists in a heavy battle and neutralised quite a number of them, while some of the insurgents escaped with gunshot wounds.

He added, “Regrettably, a soldier sustained injury in action against the insurgents. The soldier was referred to the military medical centre for medical attention.”
