A 300 level med rehab student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, simply identified as Miss Chioma, was among those shot dead by gunmen in Nnewi, on Sunday afternoon.

Tribune Online gathered that she was shot on the thigh while she was recording the activities of the gunmen who caused havoc in the industrial city of the state, with her phone.

According to a source, she was rushed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, for urgent treatment, but no attention was given to her, due to the ongoing doctors strike.

“Chioma bled to death while waiting,” the source added.
