Today, a different Ghana turned up with a scintillating performance that saw off the Eagles.

The Black Stars of Ghana which seemed to want the cup more were on the driving seat for most part of the game playing as if their lives depended on it.

A moment of lack of concentration by the Super Eagles who were resilient in defending brought about the only goal in the first half by Stephen Sarfo.

In the second half of the game, the Super Eagles dug deep to try to put up a better performance.

They huffed and puffed and threw everything they had.

However, the Super Eagles and Nigerians watching back home a controversial penalty was awarded to Ghana which made it 2- 0 in favour of Ghana.

A few minutes later, Patrick was brought down again in the box 18 and another penalty was awarded.

This time around it was the scorer of the first goal Sarfo who made it 3 – 0 in favour of Ghana.

Atingah of Ghana was sent off for a silly challenge in the in injury time.

With 10 men on the pitch Ghana heaped more misery on Nigeria by making it 4-0.

Nigeria pulled one back in the last minute with a beautiful free kick from the man with the experience Rabiu Ali to make it 4-1.

That was however too late to make any impact.

It was a competition that home based players featured for both Ghana and Nigeria in a mouth watering encounter at Accra.
