The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday confirmed 125 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The NCDC which announced the latest infections via its official Twitter handle late Thursday night, said the total number of infections in the country now stood at 57,849.

According to the health agency, the new infections were reported from 12 states and Abuja.

Details of the infections are – Lagos 37, Plateau – 18, FCT – 17; Ogun – 15; Rivers -10, Benue – 7, Kaduna – 7, Anambra – 5, Oyo – 3, Cross River – 2, Ondo – 2, Edo – 1 and Imo -1.

The NCDC also announced that 49,098 persons have recovered from the virus while 1,102 have died as of Thursday, Sept. 24.
