Several persons, among them, students of Kogi State Polytechnic and some primary school pupils, have been killed in Lokoja, Kogi State, after a petrol tanker exploded and caught fire at Felele area in traffic gridlock.
Roots tv reports that no fewer than 10 people have been confirmed dead after the petrol tanker caught fire after ramming into several vehicles in the traffic gridlock in the accident that happened in the early hours of Wednesday.
Over ten vehicles were burnt down while the road has been closed down temporarily. Already men of the Federal Road Safety Corps and firefighters are on hand to control the situation.

Roots tv tweeted: “Petrol tanker explosion in Lokoja, several feared dead.
“About 10 persons have died from a petrol tanker explosion in Lokoja the Kogi State Capital. Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred around 8:30am when the tanker lost control and rammed into oncoming vehicles.”
Arewa Fact Zone also tweeted: “Just In : Black Wednesday in Lokoja, Kogi State,as many feared dead Including Kogi State Polytechnic Students and some Primary School Pupils as Petrol tanker catches fire at Felele Area In Lokoja Traffic Gridlock.”
