Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has presented judges in the state High Court with 41 new sports utility vehicles (SUV).

Presenting the vehicles at a brief ceremony at the High court premises on Monday, Wike said the gesture was meant to improve service delivery in the judiciary.

The governor also assured the Judges that the quarters which he is building for them would soon be completed and promised to release the certificate of occupancy to them as well.

In response, the State Chief Judge, Iyayi Adanma Laminkara thanked the Governor for the gifts noting that the state’s judiciary has become the envy of their counterparts in the country.

He also thanked the governor for the prompt release of funds for the operations of the state High Court.

Also speaking, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Prof. Zacheaus Adango lauded the governor’s gesture, describing it as true demonstration of government policies geared at improving the Judiciary.
