Edo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, has assured the people of the state that Governor Godwin Obaseki will run and win in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election in September.

According to him, Obaseki will run for a second term and he is going to win because the administration has made a mark in the development of Edo State.

The Deputy Governor in his Statement, issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Benjamin Atu, said: “Godwin Obaseki has served to the best of his ability. He has served Edo State like a man who is serving in the vineyard of God, without eye – service. We are aware our opponent can’t praise us because our success is hurting them.

“Those who are saying Obaseki can’t be re-elected as Governor of Edo State are mere men and not God and their horses are flesh and not spirit. The re-election of Obaseki is sacrosanct and as settled as the word of God”.

Shaibu maintained that Obaseki has empowered traders with business grants to lift their commercial activities and will surely do more when re-elected as the Governor of the State.

The administration has started the process of reinventing all the markets in the State, through targeted rehabilitation as part of continuous efforts in industrializing the State.

“We started this process by creating the necessary infrastructure to attracts investors into the State.”

“Obaseki is not seeking re-election to rule over any individual but to pilot the affairs of the State. It’s the ghost of the forces of darkness that is hunting them, making them be afraid of Obaseki’s re-election. They have done evil and behaved badly. Their conscience is killing them and that’s why they are afraid of Obaseki’s re-election as a Governor.

“Obaseki is not an evil genius and can’t conceive such evil of paying back evil for evil. Obaseki is seeking re-election to consolidate on the first term achievements and not to torment any individual.

“The developmental task ahead is great and we will maintain focus and not be distracted. The victory that will be recorded in the September Governorship election, will bring to an end, every wickedness of the Wicked in our State.

“The administration of Godwin Obaseki has served with the fear of God, integrity as well as maintained his office allegiance and be law-abiding” Comrade Shaibu declared, maintaining that the main reason why he is in government is to serve humanity.”
